Refractory Material Additives

Silica Fume SiO2 ≥ 94%, Cl<0.05%, Alkali content<1.0%;
By adding silica fume to refractory materials, the castable structure becomes denser due to the filling effect of ultrafine particles, which can improve cold strength and hot strength, as well as abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance. Therefore, silica fume is widely used as an important ultrafine additive in the formulation of low cement castables (LCC) and ultra-low cement castables (ULCC).
Silicon Carbide SiC ≥ 92%, SiO2<1.0%, Fe2O3<1.0%;
Silicon carbide (SiC) is a high-hardness and heat-resistant ceramic material composed of silicon and carbon. It offers excellent abrasion resistance, thermal shock resistance, and oxidation resistance, and is widely used as a refractory raw material. When added to refractory castables and refractory bricks, it improves abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, and hot strength. In addition, its high thermal conductivity helps stabilize the temperature distribution inside the furnace.
Attapulgite Attapulgite is a natural clay mineral with a fibrous crystal structure, featuring excellent thickening and thixotropic properties. When added to refractory gunning materials, it increases the viscosity of the material and contributes to sagging resistance and improved adhesion during application. It also enhances workability and enables uniform and stable gunning performance.
